Frequently asked questions

We believe care should be a personal choice that is planned ahead, not a reaction to a situation or development. 72% of people would rather be in the comfort of their own homes, but due to reactionary decisions made by others, this is not always the case. Proactively planning care before it is required is the best way to avoid this. We are happy to help you do this.

When it comes to care there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution. Everyone is different, we pride ourselves on delivering a truly bespoke service, delivered by your dedicated CAREPal..
Our care services are wide ranging, to offer a tailored care solution for you or a loved one.

Our fantastic care is delivered by our fantastic team of CAREPals. We take lots of time to select caring, enthusiastic, reliable people who genuinely love what they do. They all take great pride in their work, to them it’s a vocation not a job. We make sure that we understand what their hobbies and interests are, so that these can be matched to yours, be that going to football match or playing board games or cards.

You don’t need to tell us to some care is perceived as expensive. However, the beauty about home care is that you only pay for the care that you need, it’s dedicated to you, all in the comfort of your own home. When you consider that a residential care home has a staffing ratio to look after a number of clients, the care provided is shared between those clients. If you look at it like that home care is much better value for money.

We use the term CAREPal rather than plain carer because a Pal:- A pal is a good friend. When you’re feeling nervous, sad, or lonely, it can make you feel better when you see a pal.

Also, because at Happiest at Home you are given a dedicated carer or your personal dedicated CAREPal(s) who will visit you each and every visit.

A minimum call duration of 3 hours, 3 times a week a week is advisable. This way your support is not rushed and you and build a relationship with your CAREPal.

No, we do not charge any upfront costs, you only pay for the service we provide.

Not at all, our CAREPals would never ask for cash payments. We offer peace of mind payments through a secure technology platform that automatically generates your weekly timesheet and invoice.

This is sent to you and then payment is taken from either a debit or credit card of your choice. This is all done seamlessly and the payments are taken through Barclaycard and are regulated and validated by the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, commonly known as PCI DSS.

If your care is funded by a local authority, CHC, a charity, or insurance company, we will deal with them accordingly.  Should you need to contribute to ‘top-up’ the amount payable, this will also be accommodated.

Our system has an area for you to access, allowing you or a family member to confirm that a CAREPal visit has taken place and check chargeable hours.
