We had the best time meeting so many people, old friends and new, at the Disability Expo 2023. The two days of exhibiting were both exhilarating and exhausting!
We had the opportunity to discuss the current problems in the care industry, and to see what solutions are out there. Not surprisingly there is still a huge shortage of Carers and there are many people whose lives are on hold awaiting care.
We chatted with some professionals including case managers, social workers and occupational therapists who all agreed that care availability was a problem and they had clients who they are unable to help. On the reverse side, those in need of care told us their stories where they have been assessed as needing care but have not been offered care.
Days like these are good for Happiest at Home. Although we hear the bad news, we are also at the coal-face and get to know the problems in live-time. We are also delighted to get good feedback about our service and our website.
